Pet Afrique was born in South Africa, 2007 and headed up by three dynamic ladies with a passion for animals. Driven by this passion and identifying a niche in the market, they appoached a company which created employment opportunities for South African bead workers, to manufacture their beaded pet accessories with the aim of uplifting the South African communities as well as animals in need. The product range extends from collars to bowls, bedding and clothing and a percentage of the product sales are donated back to global animal welfare organisations.
Although based in South Africa, Pet Afrique supplies both local and international products. With a new and growing brand, these ladies hope to soon be able to make significant changes through their donations. Pet Afrique also supports the principles of fair trade and aligns their business with such values such as producing quality products at a fair price, supporting projects that uplift disadvantaged individuals, no child labour and gender equality to name a few.
